Lindsey came to the Patriots after a very successful high school career at White Oak High School. Lindsey was a three time Texas State qualifier in Cross Country as White Oak’s top runner.

As a Patriot Lindsey has been named Heartland Conference Freshman of the Year for his performance at the Heartland Conference Cross Country Championships in 2007. He was also a member of the Patriots 3rd place NCCAA men’s distance medley relay, which earned him his first All-American honor.

In 2008 track season, he also qualified individually for the NCCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track Championships. For Indoors he qualified in the mile, the 3000 meters, and the men’s DMR. During the Outdoor Season Lindsey qualified for the 5000 meters.

During the 2008 Cross Country season, Kurt battled through injuries but still was able to help the Patriots to a second place team finish at the Heartland Conference Championship. Lindsey was also awarded Honorable Mention All-Conference Honors with his 14th place individual finish.

“Kurt is one of our leaders,” says head coach Jacob Phillips, “his work ethic and dedication to this team inspires the younger guys to strive for success. We’re really looking forward to what Kurt can do this track season. He’s finally over the injuries that stopped him from being an All-American in Cross Country, and he’s got some big goals to achieve this spring.”
