JASON HEIM WON GOLD IN THE SHOT AND PUT A PERSONAL BEST 50’00.5″

RILEY LAKIN WAS FIRST IN THE POLE VAULT WITH A PERSONAL BEST JUMP OF 14’00”

IN THE VARSITY GIRLS KADRIANNE SANDERS WON THE 200 METER DASH WITH A TIME OF 27.55

THE 4X400 METER RELAY TEAM OF DESIREE VINING, MADISON PECOT, CAYMEN SUTTON, DOROTHY SWANSON WAS FIRST

MADISON PECOT BRAKES MEET RECORD AT JACK FRY RELAYS

MADISON PECOT LED THE GIRLS TEAM BY WINNING THE POLE VAULT, 300 METER HURDLES AND AS A MEMBER OF THE  1600 METER RELAY TEAM. PECOT’S PERFORMANCE IN THE 300 METER HURDLES OF 38.74 SET A NEW JACK FRY RELAYS RECORD. ABBEY BYBEL WON GOLD IN THE HIGH JUMP AND 1600 METER RELAY. DOROTHY SWANSON WAS ALSO PART OF THAT RELAY TEAM AND FINISHED SECOND IN THE 300 METER HURDLES. FRESHMAN KADRIENNE SANDERS LED THAT SAME RELAY TEAM AND ALSO WON THE 400 METER DASH. THE GIRLS TEAM IS CONTINUING TO IMPROVE. THEY WILL BE A CONTENDER TO WIN THE DISTRICT MEET THIS YEAR. THEY HAVE OUTSCORED EVERY TEAM IN THE DISTRICT THAT THEY HAVE SEEN IN A MEET.

THE VARSITY BOYS TEAM WAS LED BY JR DARION BARR, SOPHOMORE DYLAN GALE AND SR JERRED WHISENHUNT. BARR WON THE 110 HURDLES AND PLACED THIRD IN THE 300 HURDLES. DYLAN GALE WAS SECOND IN THE VAULT AND WHISENHUNT WS 3RD IN THE 800 METER DASH. WHISENHUNT AND GALE ARE BOTHING DOING A GREAT JOB ONLY BEING 2 WEEKS FROM BASKETBALL SEASON. OTHER POINT EARNERS IN THE MEET WERE GABE MICHEAL, LEVI YANCY, CHEVY PARSONS, MATT TERRELL, JOSH PRESSON, RILEY LAKIN, JONOTHAN SPEDOWSKI, JACK ROGERS, CALEB CARR, CLAY HUNTER. WE HAVE A WELL ROUNDED GROUP OF CONTRIBUTORS ON THIS TEAM. WE EXPECT TO SEE EVEN MORE IMPROVEMENT WHEN WE GET TO THE DISTRICT MEET IN 2 WEEKS.

ANDREW THORNTON WAS THE BIG PERFORMER IN THE JV DIVISION. ANDREW PLACED IN THE 300 HURDLES, HIGH JUMP, TRIPLE JUMP, AND THE 110 HURDLES. COREY EVERS WON THE DISCUS FOR THE JV. FRESHMAN BLAKE WARREN WON THE 3200 METER RUN.

STATE QUALIFIERS

Pole vaulters Jessica McNew and Josh Presson have advanced to Austin.
McNew a Senior has the 2nd highest qualifying jump going into the meet. She jumped a personal best at the regional meet (11’00”). Junior, Presson has a personal best of (14’00”) so far this season. Both will compete on Saturday morning May 14th.

Region III 2A Runner-Up (LADYNECKS)

The Ladyneck track & field team scored 51 points and finished second to East Chambers at the Regional Meet this past weekend. After an outstanding effort in the 1600 meter run Sydney Hamm put the Ladynecks in the lead for the Regional Title with only one race to go in the meet. That performance made her Regional Champion in the 1600 meter. The other individual meet champion in her event was Natalie Craven in the Pole Vault. White Oak had several other girls finish 3rd just missing a trip to the State Meet. Paige Maly in the 3200, Juliana Tuel in the pole vault, Adrian Stephens in the 100 and the long jump.

The Roughnecks had Spenser Lynn as the Regional Champion in two events. The 3200, and 1600 meter runs. Trevor Coppedge was 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles. The boys finished 5th as a team at the meet.
